Warm Winter Wishes

With their cheerful scarves and hats, the snowmen from "The More the Merrier" stamp set  makes you feel warm all over! Snowflakes in green galore ink using the snowflake stamp from the "Christmas Punch" set creates a colorful background. In tempting turquoise and green galore, one large and one small snowflake was layered to the base card. These snowflakes were made using the Sizzlits 4-pak "Snowflakes" die set and the Original "Snowflake" die on the Big Shot. The snowmen were stamped on whisper white layered on only orange card stock. Using SU markers the scarves, hats and carrot noses were colored. Who says winter has to be dreary?

A Clements Family Christmas

Christmas came and went way too fast!

Here's the highlights of the Clements Family Christmas!

New Clements family stockings were purchased this year. Ashlan and I made tags help identify each stocking. The "B" was made with my Big Shot die cutter using real red card stock. Circles were punched with 1" and 3/4" circle punches. The stamp set is no longer available.

Christmas morning.

Nathan bought a house in Evergreen, CO not far from where he works in Denver. We all took advantage of his hospitality after Christmas to ski at Beaver Creek. It was a really pretty day!

After skiing the first day, Ashlan and I shopped in Breckenridge while the guys did the skiing on day 2. We found a great shop called Magical Scraps. The scarf above was made with quilting fabric and fleece. While we both loved it, we were not willing to pay $40 for the scarf!

Instead, we purchased a yard of fabric from Magical Scraps and with some of my fabric stash we made our own scarf. Ashlan has a real talent for picking out coordinating fabric. This scarf cost less than $15!

Cute Gift Bag!!

Can you believe this gift bag is made from one sheet of SU Designers Series paper?! After folding, add some adhesive tape to hold it together and then ribbon for a handle and it's a bag! It is also pretty on the inside because of the double-sided paper. It measures approximately 4"w x 3-1/2"h. It has two pockets and would be great for gift cards, jewelry, or cookies.

Angela, my sister-in-law made this bag for a teacher gift. How cute!

Delightful Decorations

My favorite new holiday stamp set has to be Delightful Decorations from the SU Holiday Mini Catalog. SU also offers an Ornament Punch that is perfectly designed for the 4 ornaments in this set. This makes cutting the ornaments out a snap because there is no cutting - just punching!! Once the punched ornaments are adhered to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional, it gives the card an elegant 3D look. The punch is a must!

Supplies:
Card stock: whisper white (card base), sahara sand (card layer)
Inks: real read (ornament) and chocolate chip (ornament, ornament hanger, and sentiment)
Stamp Sets (from the SU Holiday Mini): Delightful Decorations, p. 24 & Berry Christmas, p. 20
Stamp Set (from the SU Idea Book and Catalog): Season of Joy, p. 32
Ribbon (from the SU Holiday Mini): Sleigh Bells, p. 17

How I did it:
I literally just stamped, punched, adhered, tied, and applied.
Heres what I mean. I stamped the ornaments (on white; one in real red, one in chocolate chip), then the ornament hangers and the sentiment were stamped in chocolate chip on the sahara sand card layer. I punched the ornaments and then adhered the ornaments to the sahara sand card layer with Stampin' Dimensionals. I tied the ribbon and then applied the sahara sand card layer to the whisper white card base.

More Circus Circus

Same card design as the last Circus Circus post but in Green Galore and Pixie Pink. Green is Ashlan's fav and pink is Christie's - what a fun card to create!

Christie & Carla's Shop Hop October 2009

Christie and I set out to go to the OKC craft show last weekend. Christie flew to Amarillo Wed. evening and we set out early Thu. morning headed to Oklahoma. Since we had 3-1/2 days, we decided to drive to Harrison, Ark. to visit the quilt shop where we have our quilt tops quilted. Our goal was to stop at as many Alco stores, quilt shops, and scrapbooking stores as possible. We also hit a few Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Kohl's stores, a crafter's mall and a few junktique shops. Christie and I both ended up with new purses! It was a great weekend.

Circus Circus

Black, red and white - classic colors! This card is fast to make but still has an elegant style.

Supplies:
Stamp sets - Circus Circus, Great Friend
Card stock - real red, whisper white
Inks - real red, basic black
Punches - 1-3/4" circle and scallop circle
Other - real red marker and Stampin' dimensionals

How I did it:
Stamp the big circle from Circus Circus on whisper white paper with basic black ink. Punch out with scallop circle punch. Also, punch 1-3/4" circle in real red. Stamp miscellaneous circles across the center of the card on whisper white paper in basic black ink. Layer the real red circle and then the scallop circle on top. Using real red marker, color parts of the large circle stamped image. Stamp sentiment from Great Friend stamp set. Layer on real red base for a great card!
