A Harvest Hello

So a friend of mine came over to stamp with me last night. This friend loves to stamp on tiles. She wanted to make a gift for her secret pal using a harvest pumpkin stamp. She brought all of her acrylic paints and extra tiles - I think just to get me hooked also - it worked!

Supplies:
4" x 4" unglazed tile (available at Lowe's or Home Depot)
StazOn ink pad - black
acrylic paints
brushes

Super fun and super easy! If you like to color you'll love creating these tiles. Wouldn't they make great gifts for teachers and co-workers!

Scallop Boxes

I held the first Upstairs Stampin' Gig last night - what fun! The stamping project was to create these cute little boxes with scallop edges. It was fun to see how each box was different even though we all used the same pattern.

Supplies:
2 sheets of 8-1/2 x 11 card stock (dusty durango, melon mambo, soft suede, rich razzleberry)
1 sheet of 12x12 card stock
(whisper white)
Coordinating ink pads and ribbon
Stamp sets: Bella's Bloom and Trendy Trees
Scallop punch
Big Shot and Bigz Scallop Envelop Die
Sticky Strip

How We Did It:
From the 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of card stock, cut 4 "envelopes" using the Bigz Scallop Envelop die. Tape together envelopes with Sticky Strip along the side flaps of each envelope. Then fold bottom flaps in to create a box. Cut a strip from the 12 x 12 card stock to fit around the box. Stamp tree images before applying to the box. Cut coordinating card stock scraps to fit one side of the box, stamp and layer sentiment for the front of the box. Fold scallop flaps out.

For exact measurements, leave a comment and I will email details to you!

Always in Bloom

Okay, I'll admit it! I didn't come up with this one on my own but I did add some of my own style by adding a texture that just made the card. I love the color combination - great for summer (or should I say end of summer?)!

Supplies:
Always in Bloom stamp set
Whisper White card stock
Scraps in Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Only Orange and Certainly Celery
Only Orange and Brilliant Blue ink pads
Big Shot and Texturz plates

How I did it:
The base of the card is Whisper White. I cut scraps of Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Only Orange and Certainly Celery to fit the background of the card. Before layering these on my base, I placed these scraps on the Big Shot and used the Texturz Plate to add texture to the scraps. I then stamped the Always saying in Only Orange and the bird in Brilliant Blue. I added a few brads to the card stock with the bird and then layered. Simple and a great way to use those scraps!

2009 Bluebonnet Trail Shop Hop Scrapbook

As many of you know, my sister Christie moved to San Antonio in February. We came up with a great plan to make sure we get together each year - the Bluebonnet Trail Shop Hop! A shop hop is an event that local quilt shops host together. The goal is to go to all of the participating quilt shops over a weekend and sign up for prizes. If you go to all of the shops, you are registered for a big grand prize. We went to all 12 quilt shops over 2-1/2 days. It was a lot of fun - so I just had to scrapbook the experience!

Supplies:
8x8 scrapbook plus a few extra sheet protectors
1 pkg. SU designer series paper plus coordinating card stock and ink pads
SU Big Shot Die-Cut Machine
Circle punches
Scallop punch
Stamp sets: Circus Circus and Cheap Talk

How I did it:
Once I designed the layout for the scrapbook, I repeated it throughout. This makes for a fast and easy scrapbook.

I first cut all of the designer series paper into 8x8 sheets and cut the coordinating card stock into 8x8 sheets as well. With the remaining scraps of paper, I then used the Big Shot to cut the "Top Note", "Ovals", "Buttons", and "Birds and Blooms" shapes. I used the "Cheap Talk" stamp set and stamped birds on some of the oval shapes.

At this point, I still had usable scraps of the coordinating card stock so I used the coordinating ink pads and stamped circles from the "Circus Circus" stamp set. I punched these out with my scallop punch and circle punches. I also used the punches to punch circles and scallops out of the designer series paper. This enabled me to use every square inch of paper with no waste!

To assemble the scrapbook:
I layered photos and the shapes that I had cut or punched. Quick and easy!! Now for the results:
