I'm Back!

Thanks to all of you who attended my 2013-2014 SU! new catalog open houses in August. Lot's of new stamp sets and accessories to be excited about!! Below are some of the cards from these workshops:

Hi everyone! Since we last talked, the new 2013-2014 SU! Catalog has been released!

I am working hard to get ready for a "New Catalog Open House" - details to come. I have lots of new stamp sets and accessories that I am excited to share with you! Meanwhile, I wanted to give you a sample of some of the projects I've been working on.

Flower Shop

This card is made from products in the new catalog. I've always loved this color combo - one of my favorites!! See below for a list of products used.

Just Married

My sister in law Angela was married on June 22. We made these envelopes with bird seed to throw and the bride and groom! They really turned out nice. Here's what we used:

Stamp set: Just Married and jumbo wheel Wedding Words

Inks/papers: coin sized envelopes, lucky limeade, elegant eggplant

Punch: Curly Label

Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots and Chevron EFs

Embellishments: ribbon, rhinestone basic jewels.

get 'em while you can . . . . SU!'s retired list is out!!

 The SU! retired list came out on April 24 and while I'm sad about some of my favorite sets and accessories being retired, I am excited about new sets and accessories coming out in the new catalog (June 1, 2013)

I will be placing an order at 6:00p on Sunday, April 28.

Remember, retiring accessories are ONLY available while supplies last.

Sale-A-Bration ended March 22. SAB this year was, to me one of the best I can remember!! So many awesome stamp sets and accessories to choose from. This set, Bloomin' Marvelous turned out to be my favorite!

How I did it:

Inks/papers for the card on the left: rich razzleberry, pool party, island indigo

Inks/papers for the card/scrapbook page on the right: summer starfruit, basic gray, baja breeze

Big Shot (right): beautiful wings embosslit

Embellishments: delicate details lace tape, island indigo, basic gray and summer starfruit ribbon

For the card on the right, I used the stamp-off technique to create a shadow for the butterfly. It gives the appearance of movement.

Bloomin' Marvelous Gift Card Holder

When giving gift cards for special occasions, I like to add a personal touch. This card does that! It has a nice slot on the inside to insert a gift card and space to add a special note.

Here's how I did it:

1. Starting with the base of the card, I cut a piece of 12"x12" card stock to 4"x11-7/8".
2. Lay the card stock landscape on the Simply Scoring tool and score at 3-7/8" and 7-7/8".
3. Place the diagonal plate on the scoring tool and score at 3-7/8" diagonally - just between the score lines from step #2.
4. Fold the card along the score lines.
5. Make the front and inside of the card. It should measure approximately 3-3/4"x3-3/4"
6. Use sticky strip (or adhesive of your choice) inside of the card along the left inside, top to bottom.
7. You'll need sticky strip on the back of the card as well.

March is here - time to start thinking about spring! I used the Bootiful Occasions set to create this spring card. I used the new Cloudy Day embossing folder to make the background match the clouds in the rain boot. A subtle touch that adds a lot of dimension to this card.

Updating my blog again today - I'm stuck at home because of an historic snowstorm that hit the panhandle of Texas early Monday morning. Roads are closed, schools are closed and I'm home for the 2nd day in a row. What's a girl to do but stamp, stamp, stamp!

Here, I have used the Sale-A-Bration set Patterned Occasions. The pinwheel is easily made using the SU! Pinwheel Sizzlets Die. Definitely worth $4.95!

What a sweet baby card. Don't know of anyone expecting right now but I'll have a baby card ready just in case!
